Can I upload an audio file instead of recording live?

Yes. Open the patient, click + New Clinical Note, choose Upload audio, and pick an .mp3, .wav, or .m4a file from your device. Anything under 100 MB / one hour works. The same 10 structured fields populate after processing — typically faster than live recording because the file is sent in one go.
When you would use this
- You recorded on your phone’s voice memo app and want to bring it into the patient record.
- You dictated to a portable dictaphone between patients.
- You have an old recording you want to import into the new record system.
How to upload
- Sidebar → Patients → search and click the patient.
- Top right → + New Clinical Note.
- Choose Upload audio.
- Pick a file from your device. Supported: .mp3, .wav, .m4a.
- Wait for the upload bar to finish — processing starts automatically.
- Review the 10 fields, edit anything that needs correcting, and Save.
What about audio quality?
Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, not file format. A clear phone-microphone recording works fine. Heavy background noise, low volume, or muffled audio reduces accuracy — review and edit the fields if needed.
